Sveasalen

Sveasalen was a movie theater in Norrmalm housed within Sparreska Palace, offering a grand concert hall with seating for about 1,140 people. The space featured extensive lighting systems and functioned as a venue for both film screenings and various other cultural performances.

The venue opened in 1888 under builder Carl Oscar Lundberg and was reconstructed in 1901 after a fire in 1899 damaged the auditorium and stage. Following these changes, the renovated space continued to serve the community for decades.

Sveasalen served as a social gathering place where Stockholm's audiences could experience live concerts and film screenings together. The venue became known for hosting diverse performances that brought the community together for shared entertainment experiences.
