TV-huset, Broadcasting studios in Stockholm, Sweden
TV-huset is a broadcasting complex in Stockholm containing multiple studios of varying sizes alongside modern transmission infrastructure and office facilities. The facility was designed to support professional television production across different studio spaces.
Designed by architects Erik Ahnborg and Sune Lindström, the building opened on October 30, 1967, marking the beginning of color television production in Sweden. Its construction represented a turning point for Swedish broadcasting.
The first television program recorded in the building was a children's series featuring Moomin characters, with actor Gösta Ekman among the cast members.
The studios underwent renovations between 2011 and 2012 to incorporate advanced HD broadcasting technology and updated equipment. Visitors should expect state-of-the-art technical facilities supporting professional television production.
SVT operates the country's only night editorial department from this building, managing all broadcasting content during nighttime hours from a central location. This nocturnal operation often goes unnoticed by visitors despite running continuously.
