The Oscar I:s Minne Foundation operates a residential facility for single women over 50 years old, providing accommodations for 41 residents in Stockholm.
The institution was established in the 1870s in Södermalm, designed by architect Per Ulrik Stenhammar with input from Queen Josefina of Leuchtenberg.
The foundation maintains the tradition of offering specialized housing services exclusively for women, continuing a social welfare practice from the 19th century.
Located at Fogdevägen 21, the retirement home accepts applications from single women aged 50 and above through their official website or direct contact.
The original building in Södermalm was sold in 2018 for 110 million kronor and transformed into a hotel while the foundation relocated to Bagarmossen.
