Vreten 17

Vreten 17 is an office building in Västberga with an unusual pyramidal glass roof that floods the central work hall with daylight. The facade is made of cast iron panels that give the building its distinctive appearance.

The building was erected in 1955 as a workshop facility for Volvo and designed by architect Georg Scherman. It stands as an early expression of post-war industrial design and construction methods.

The city recognized this building as architecturally important to Stockholm's development. The recognition reflects how its design represents a significant chapter in the capital's industrial and modern heritage.

In 2009 a helicopter landed on the building's pyramid roof during a criminal heist, making the distinctive roof design internationally known. This dramatic event has since become part of the area's local history narrative.
