Singapore Expo, Convention and exhibition venue in Singapore
Singapore Expo is a convention center in Tampines and Singapore's largest venue for exhibitions and conferences. The building has ten large column-free halls of about 10,000 square meters each, plus more than ten smaller meeting rooms that can accommodate groups from fifteen to a hundred people.
The building opened in 1999 to replace space at the World Trade Centre, which was being redeveloped. A 2005 expansion added four new halls with approximately 40,000 square meters of additional space, connected by sheltered walkways to the original structures.
The venue connects to the Expo MRT station on the East West and Downtown lines, with parking for about 2,200 vehicles and clear signage throughout. Taxis and ride-hailing services are available at Foyer One and Foyer Two, and the airport journey takes around fifteen minutes by car.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, sections of the venue were transformed into a recovery facility with beds and medical staff on-site. This demonstrates the space's ability to adapt quickly to unexpected needs.
