Catholic High School, Singapore, High School in Singapore
Catholic High School is a boys' secondary school in Bishan with modern facilities including indoor sports halls, science and art laboratories, and a theatre. The campus spans extensive grounds featuring a lotus pond, bamboo garden, clock tower with chapel, and multiple gathering spaces.
Founded in 1935 by French missionary Father Edward Becheras, the school began as a small institution within a church. Over more than 80 years, it evolved into an established boys' secondary institution that has produced generations of leaders and professionals across Singapore and beyond.
The school maintains its bilingual roots through active teaching of both English and Chinese language and culture. A Chinese Cultural Corridor within the campus displays calligraphy, historical references, and Confucian wisdom that students encounter during their daily routines.
The school is located in Bishan just one bus stop from Bishan MRT station and is easily accessible by public transportation. School days run Monday to Friday from around 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM, with some activities and classes extending until 3:30 PM.
The school operates a specialized Space and Flight Science laboratory called STARS, equipped with drones, telescopes, and electronic tools for student experiments. This distinctive program differentiates it from typical secondary schools and is supported by partners including the Singapore Science Centre and NUS.
