Masjid Al-Muttaqin

Masjid Al-Muttaqin is an Islamic place of worship in Ang Mo Kio with a spacious prayer hall and various sections for the community. The building contains classrooms, a Koran reading room, a conference area, a library for religious study, and living quarters for the Imam.

This mosque opened in 1980 as part of Singapore's government-supported initiative to build mosques across the island. The establishment reflected growing Muslim communities needing dedicated prayer spaces in developing neighborhoods like Ang Mo Kio.

The community gathers here daily for prayers and religious learning, bringing together people of all ages. This mosque serves as a central meeting place where local Muslim residents participate in worship and social activities.

The facility is accessible to visitors and clearly organized into prayer areas, learning spaces, and gathering zones. Visitors should note that appropriate dress is expected and that certain times are reserved for different prayer sessions.

Before this mosque was built, the Muslim community of the neighborhood prayed in the open spaces between housing blocks, especially during Ramadan. This temporary arrangement transformed once a proper Islamic center opened.
