InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay, hotel in Singapore, Singapore
The InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is a 10-story modern hotel directly on the Singapore River near the Riverwalk. It features river-view rooms, a lap pool on the fourth floor, the Club InterContinental lounge on the same guest floor, and a ground-level restaurant serving breakfast and lunch.
The hotel opened in late 2017 on the site of the former Gallery Hotel. During the pandemic, it served temporarily as a quarantine facility and reopened for regular guests in December 2021. The building was designed by the architectural firm SCDA.
The hotel sits in Robertson Quay, a neighborhood popular with international visitors, lined with upscale restaurants, cafes, and older buildings that blend with modern structures. The riverside setting creates a relaxed character that contrasts with the bustling city center.
The main lobby is on the fourth floor, making access from the riverside straightforward, while ground-level areas house dining and fitness facilities. The compact size with facilities concentrated on two floors makes navigation simple and efficient.
The 25-meter lap pool is a secluded spot that many guests overlook, making it remarkably quiet during swimming hours. The lobby being on the fourth floor rather than ground level is an unexpected design choice that gives the property its own distinct character.
