Loeng Nok Tha

Loeng Nok Tha is an administrative district in northeastern Thailand within Yasothon Province. The district is divided into ten smaller administrative units and spreads across relatively flat terrain.

The district was established in 1947 as a full administrative division and originally belonged to Ubon Ratchathani Province. It was transferred to the newly created Yasothon Province in 1972.

The district name reflects the historical presence of a specific bird species in the local swampy basin, representing the connection between nature and settlement.

The district is accessible from Mueang Yasothon and features multiple schools and a vocational college for visitors interested in education. The area has pleasant weather year-round for travel, though the rainy season from May to October brings more moisture.
