Luangpho Yai, Buddhist statue at Wat Burapha Phiram temple in Roi Et, Thailand.

Luangpho Yai is a Buddhist statue of concrete and mosaic tile at Wat Burapha Phiram temple in Roi Et. The figure stands approximately 8 meters tall and displays a seated posture with intricate tiling throughout its surface.

The statue was commissioned by the temple's fifth abbot in 1973 and took eight years to complete. This building effort reflected the community's religious devotion during that period.

The statue carries the formal name Phra Phuttha Rattana Mongkhol Maha Muni, referring to a great and precious sage. Local devotees visit to pay respects and make offerings at this central spiritual landmark.

Wear modest clothing when entering the temple grounds as it remains an active place of worship. The structure is visible from several locations throughout the city, making it easy to locate.

Unlike traditional Buddha figures, this statue deviates in its proportions and displays architectural features that set it apart from typical religious monuments. The mosaic tiling gives it a modern appearance that was unconventional for its era.
