Archaeological museum Kahramanmaraş

The archaeological museum exhibits numerous artifacts across seven specialized halls, featuring collections from Paleolithic through Byzantine periods with detailed chronological presentations.

Starting as a primitive collection of steles in Kahramanmaraş Castle during medieval times, the museum officially opened in 1947 and moved to its current location in 1975.

The museum presents extensive collections of Hittite artifacts, Roman statues, Byzantine mosaics, and stone tools that document the transformation of regional civilizations.

Located on Azerbeycan Boulevard under the Ministry of Culture supervision, the museum provides guided tours and educational programs for visitors of all ages.

The museum houses an Anatolian elephant skeleton and significant findings from the Direkli and Domuztepe excavation sites that reveal ancient settlement patterns.
