Servantikar

Servantikar is a stone fortress located in Osmaniye Province at high elevation near the Syrian Gates. The structure features thick defensive walls and internal residential spaces arranged within a compact mountain stronghold.

The fortress was built during the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia period as a military stronghold. It served to control trade routes connecting Anatolia with the Levantine regions.

The architectural elements of the castle reflect influences from multiple civilizations, combining Armenian defensive techniques with crusader fortification methods.

The castle is situated in mountainous terrain and is best accessed through nearby towns like Yarpuz or Hasanbeyli. Regional transportation connects to these settlements, making it easier to plan a visit from surrounding areas.

Archaeological work at the site has revealed hidden chambers and underground passages within the fortification. These discoveries show a more intricate inner design than previously understood.
