Wembley Conference Centre, Conference center in Wembley Park, London, England
Wembley Conference Centre was a concrete building designed by Richard Seifert with a main hall seating around 2,500 people, located directly beside Wembley Arena. The structure provided a large indoor venue for hosting a wide range of events and gatherings over several decades.
The venue opened in 1977 and operated for three decades before closing in 2006, serving as a significant location for major British events. It was established during a period of expansion for the Wembley Park complex.
The venue hosted the first Brit Awards ceremony in October 1977 and became the regular location for the Benson & Hedges Masters snooker tournament.
The building was easily accessible and sat among ample parking and other event halls within the Wembley Park grounds. Visitors could explore multiple events or attractions in close proximity during a visit to the area.
During the Live Aid concert in 1985, the center served as the backstage area and dressing rooms for performers on stage. It played a behind-the-scenes role in one of the world's most important music events.
