Erdington

Erdington is a residential suburb extending northeast of Birmingham city center, featuring Victorian houses, local shops, and green spaces throughout. The area includes parks such as Pype Hayes where visitors can find nature and relaxation.

The area began as a Saxon settlement and was named after a historical figure before developing into an industrial center during the 1800s. This shift from rural village to urban zone shaped the entire region's character.

The Fort Dunlop factory was once a major employer for many residents and shaped the industrial identity of the place until 2014. After closure, parts of it were converted to new uses.
