Fort Dunlop, Office complex in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Fort Dunlop is a seven-story building beside the M6 motorway that combines offices, retail, and an adjacent hotel. The complex covers 33,000 square meters (360,000 square feet) and is surrounded by extensive parking grounds.
The building dates from the 1920s and served as a warehouse for Dunlop tires before standing empty for decades. Conversion into a business center took place in 2006 and saved the structure from decay.
The brickwork recalls the tire factory that once operated here, while interiors now house workspace and shops. Visitors see the contrast between old walls and glass additions that show the building's new role.
The grounds are easy to reach from the motorway and offer around 1,500 parking spaces across several areas. Ground-floor shops, cafes, and a gym are accessible without prior arrangements.
The roof holds one of Britain's largest green areas, used for meetings and events. This space offers wide views over the surroundings and creates an unusual setting above the offices.
