Hallam Tower, high rise building in the Fulwood area of Sheffield
Hallam Tower is a modern residential building completed in 2022 in Broomhill, Sheffield, located on Fulwood Road. The 15-story structure replaced the original hotel that operated from 1965 to 2004 and served visitors for over 40 years.
The original Hallam Tower Hotel opened in 1965 as an 11-story establishment with restaurant and bar facilities that served the city for decades. Following its closure in 2004, the site remained vacant until redevelopment transformed it into the current residential tower in 2022.
The building sits on Fulwood Road, a main street with easy access to shops, parks, and Sheffield's city center. Visitors can explore the surrounding neighborhood on foot and find public transport and local facilities nearby.
The current building stands partly on the foundations of the original hotel, preserving a physical connection to the site's past. The redevelopment and demolition took years, during which the abandoned old hotel became a notable landmark in the city's skyline.
