Warwick Arts Centre, Multifunctional arts complex at the University of Warwick, Coventry, United Kingdom.
Warwick Arts Centre is a cultural complex at the University of Warwick housing a 1,500-seat concert hall, a theater, three cinemas, an art gallery, and studio spaces. It also contains conference rooms and multiple hospitality areas throughout the building.
The center opened in October 1974 as part of the University and expanded with Butterworth Hall in 1981 and Mead Gallery in 1986. These additions developed the facility into its current multifaceted form.
The Mead Gallery displays contemporary works in three bright spaces, presenting art by British and international artists throughout the year. You can discover current artistic directions and styles that change regularly.
The venue is easiest to visit during weekday mornings or afternoons when crowds are lighter. Check the program in advance as events and exhibitions change throughout the year.
Outside the building stands White Koan, a striking metal sculpture by Liliane Lijn installed in 1972. This work has become an iconic symbol of the complex and is frequently photographed by visitors.
