Six Flags St. Louis is an amusement park in Eureka, Missouri that covers more than 320 acres and contains eight themed areas. The facility combines roller coasters, water attractions, and family rides across a continuous landscaped site.
The park opened in 1971 under the name Six Flags Over Mid-America as the third location in the Six Flags chain. The water park zone was added in the late 1990s and later integrated into the main operation under the Hurricane Harbor name.
Several themed sections take their names from the 1904 World's Fair and the westward expansion era. Characters from Warner Bros productions and DC Comics walk around regularly and pose for photographs with visitors.
Opening times vary by season between March and November, with weekends and holiday periods usually offering longer operating hours. Different zones across the site suit different age groups, so checking the map beforehand helps with planning.
A wooden roller coaster called the Boss runs over one mile in length and ranks among the longest of its type in North America. The track passes partly through wooded sections beyond the main zones and takes advantage of the natural terrain.
