Elmore State Park

Elmore State Park is a recreation area centered around a lake in Vermont with hiking trails and a beach. The lake covers 219 acres and sits within dense forest, surrounded by mountain slopes suitable for various activities.

The park was established in 1936 when locals donated 30 acres of lakeside land to Vermont for public use. This early gift from the community led to the development of the recreation area as it exists today.

The observation tower at the summit reflects a tradition of watching over forests that remains part of how visitors experience this place.

The park provides 44 tent sites and 15 lean-to shelters along with modern bathrooms and a beach building for equipment rentals. Services operate mainly from May through October, so plan your visit during these warmer months.

Visitors can climb to an old fire observation tower at the summit that still functions as part of the local forest protection network. From this vantage point, the views stretch across the entire valley and the park below.
