Harrison Eiteljorg, a businessman and philanthropist, established this cultural institution in 1989 to showcase his collection of Native American and Western art.
The museum manages a biennial Contemporary Art Fellowship program that recognizes and supports Native American artists through exhibitions and acquisitions.
The museum welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from noon to 5 PM, with free parking in White River State Park.
The Gund Gallery presents an assemblage of Western art masterworks by Frederic Remington and Charles Russell, representing frontier life through paintings and bronzes.
