Comet Ping Pong, Pizzeria and concert venue in Chevy Chase, Washington, D.C.
Comet Ping Pong is a pizzeria in northwest Washington that combines food with entertainment. Several table tennis setups sit among the dining tables, allowing guests to play while they eat.
The restaurant opened in October 2006 in a building that previously housed a Thai eatery. James Alefantis and Carole Greenwood redesigned the space and added music performances to the concept.
The establishment functions as a performance space for local musicians, contributing to Washington D.C.'s independent music community through regular live shows.
The pizzeria sits on Connecticut Avenue and offers reservations as well as takeout. Weekend hours run longer than weekday schedules.
The pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven and change with the seasons. Guests can play table tennis for free while waiting for their food or between courses.
