General Crook House, House museum in Fort Omaha, United States
The General Crook House features Italianate architecture with two stories, a hipped roof, and Victorian-period furnishings from the 1880s throughout its rooms.
Built in 1879 as the headquarters for the Department of the Platte, the house welcomed notable guests including President Rutherford B. Hayes and General Ulysses S. Grant.
The museum exhibits document military life during the Indian Wars period and highlight the relationship between General Crook and Native American communities.
Located at 5730 N. 30th Street in Omaha, the museum opens Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and weekends from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The structure stands as the oldest building in Omaha originally constructed as a private residence and maintains its complete 1880s interior decoration.
