The Neo-Gothic limestone structure at 12375 Woodward Avenue features a tall gabled nave, lower side aisles extending to gabled transepts, and a square tower.
Built in 1929, the church initially served as Detroit Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church before being sold to an Apostolic African-American congregation in 1979.
The church building combines Late Gothic Revival elements with Victorian Gothic influences, designed by architect J. Adam Fichter to serve the Lutheran community.
The property includes a two-story brick parsonage and stands as part of the Religious Structures of Woodward Avenue collection under reference number 82002919.
Dark slate roofing contrasts with masonry walls, while shallow buttresses frame a large traceried Gothic window on the main facade.
