Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church

Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church is a limestone religious structure on Woodward Avenue featuring a tall nave with gabled roof, lower side aisles extending to transepts, and a square tower at the front. Large traceried windows punctuate the main facade and frame the entrance.

The building was completed in 1929 to serve as Detroit Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and later changed hands to an African-American apostolic congregation. This transition reflected the shifting religious landscape of the neighborhood.
