The Gruenewald House stands as a three-story Second Empire structure at 626 Main Street, featuring original architectural elements from its 1873 construction period.

Moses Cherry initiated construction of the building in 1860, with Martin Gruenewald adding the front section in 1873 and residing there for five decades.

The residence contains period furnishings from the 1890s and maintains a dedicated museum room displaying artifacts from early Anderson history.

The dining room accommodates twelve guests for seated events, while the space allows up to thirty people for receptions and meetings.

The property includes an heirloom garden and houses Civil War documents alongside memorabilia from the Gruenewald family in its research collection.
