Hardy Bridge, Historic bridge near Cascade, Montana.
Hardy Bridge extends 550 feet across the Missouri River with three steel truss spans and a concrete deck measuring 21 feet in width.
Built in 1931, the bridge formed part of the U.S. Route 91 transportation network during Montana's infrastructure expansion following the rise of automobile travel.
The structure takes its name from the former Hardy settlement, which developed near Pine Island Rapids as a transportation hub in central Montana.
Located at milepost 6 on Old U.S. Route 91, the bridge provides vehicle access across the Missouri River approximately fourteen miles southwest of Cascade.
The McGuire and Blakeslee construction firm used structural steel from Minneapolis-Moline and cement from Ideal Cement Company to build this three-span Warren through truss bridge.
