Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art

The Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art is an art museum in Great Falls that displays contemporary works across two floors of galleries and an outdoor sculpture garden. The structure of gray sandstone houses these collections in a spacious, well-organized setting.

The building was constructed in 1896 as a high school and later served as a junior high school before transforming into an art museum in 1977. This conversion preserved the historic structure while giving the place a new creative purpose.

The museum presents work from regional contemporary artists and highlights creations by craftspeople from Montana and surrounding areas. Visitors encounter folk art, abstract pieces, and functional artwork that reflect local creative traditions.

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday with extended hours on Tuesdays. Wheelchair accessibility is provided throughout the facility, making all areas easy to visit.

The museum preserves a significant collection of work by folk artist Lee Steen that was acquired before the institution officially opened. This early acquisition shows the place's early commitment to supporting regional artists.
