Henry Clay's Law Office, Historic law office in Lexington, United States.

Henry Clay's Law Office is a small brick building in Lexington where one of early America's most influential political figures worked as a lawyer. The structure contains the actual workspace where Clay handled his legal practice during the formative years of his career.

The building was constructed around 1803 and served as Clay's workplace before his elections to the state legislature and United States Senate. Those years shaped his development as a legal professional and launched the career that made him a national political figure.

The preserved law office represents early American legal practices and political development through its connection to Clay's influential career in government service.

The modest brick structure sits near Mill Street and is accessible to visitors through arrangements with the First Presbyterian Church, which now maintains it. The compact size means you can see the interior quickly, making it easy to combine with other stops during a walking tour of historic Lexington.

The building survived Lexington's rapid urban expansion in the 1800s and underwent careful restoration in 1971 to bring it back to its original condition. It remains one of the oldest standing professional buildings from that era still present in the city.
