Lexington History Center, Historical museum and former courthouse in downtown Lexington, Kentucky.
The Lexington History Center occupies the former Fayette County Courthouse building with exhibits about local history and public safety across multiple floors.
The center opened in October 2003 through an agreement between Lexington-Fayette Urban-County Government and Kentucky, transforming the historic courthouse into museum spaces.
Several independent institutions, including the Lexington History Museum and Public Safety Museum, displayed collections highlighting regional heritage and community service.
The museum recently relocated to 210 North Broadway in the Thomas Hunt Morgan House auditorium, offering exhibits Thursday through Saturday with general admission at 10 dollars.
Following the 2012 courthouse closure, the museum created temporary pocket exhibits throughout downtown Lexington before establishing its current permanent location.
