Turkish House, Diplomatic skyscraper in Turtle Bay, Manhattan, United States
Turkish House is a 171-meter-tall office tower with 35 floors and a glass facade on United Nations Plaza. The building includes three underground levels and serves as the home of Turkey's Permanent Mission and Consulate General in New York.
Construction started in 2017 and the building opened in 2021, becoming a new addition to the diplomatic neighborhood along the East River. The project expanded Turkey's infrastructure in the United Nations area.
The building hosts exhibition spaces and a prayer room where visitors can see Turkish art and cultural events. These areas reflect how the country maintains its cultural presence in the diplomatic quarter.
The building is located in the diplomatic quarter of Turtle Bay and is easily accessible from nearby subway stations at Grand Central and Lexington Avenue. Visitors should expect security checks and limited access to some interior areas.
The curved glass facade incorporates symbols from Turkish design, with elements referencing the crescent moon and the national flower. These architectural details make the building visually distinctive in the diplomatic skyline.
