John Hartford House, Historic residence in Valhalla, United States.
The John Hartford House exhibits Tudor Revival architecture with fieldstone walls, slate hip roof, and red brick chimneys with corbelled tops.
Built between 1930 and 1932, the residence belonged to John A. Hartford, who transformed A&P into the first nationwide retail chain in America.
The building contains original woodwork, marble details, and plasterwork that reflect the architectural preferences of wealthy Americans in the 1930s.
Located on the Westchester Community College campus, the structure now functions as administrative offices, including the college president's workspace.
The property initially included over 300 acres with a nine-hole golf course, though only the main house and greenhouse remain from the original estate.
