KPXM Tower

KPXM Tower is a communication mast in Sherburne County that rises prominently above the landscape and serves as a key transmission hub for the region. The facility broadcasts television and radio signals across a wide area, connecting communities between St. Cloud and the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan region.

The facility began operations in 1982 as KXLI Tower, initially serving as a broadcaster for television channel 41 across central Minnesota. Over time it was modernized and expanded to support a wider range of broadcast and television signals.

The structure has evolved into a central element of the regional broadcasting infrastructure, enabling television and radio signals to reach Minnesota communities.

The mast is typically visible from highways and can be observed from several vantage points in the area. Visitors should note that access to the facility itself is limited or not possible for safety reasons.

The mast is operated by American Tower and significantly exceeds the height of well-known Minneapolis buildings such as the IDS Center and Capella Tower. This extreme height makes it a notable landmark visible across the regional landscape.
