Kenneth R. Fox Student Union, Student residence at University of Massachusetts Lowell, United States.
The Kenneth R. Fox Student Union is an 18-story residential tower standing about 226 feet tall on the University of Massachusetts Lowell campus. It houses over 800 students and contains the university's largest dining facility, the Fox Dining Commons.
Construction started in 1972 when it was called the Lowell Technical Institute Dormitory and finished in 1973. The project reflected the campus expansion of that era as the school grew and adapted.
The building houses spaces for student organizations and the campus radio station WUML that shape daily student life. These facilities create gathering places where students meet and connect with one another.
The building is easily accessible from the main campus and provides housing for a large student population with various amenities. Those visiting should note the extensive corridors and central location of the dining facility when navigating the complex.
The building long served as the tallest structure in Lowell and remains a defining feature of the city's skyline. Its height makes it a visual landmark that students and visitors use to orient themselves on campus.
