The Liberty Bell Pavilion features a steel and glass structure directing visitors through a vestibule to view the historical bell against Independence Hall.
The pavilion served as the home for the Liberty Bell from January 1976 until October 2003, when the bell moved to its current location.
The glass structure provided a direct visual connection between the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, reinforcing the relationship between these national symbols.
The pavilion operated with a 12,000-square-foot interior space, featuring security checkpoints and informational displays about the Liberty Bell's significance.
Designed by Giurgola Associates, the pavilion incorporated specific architectural elements to frame views of Independence Hall through its transparent walls.
