Lower Mount Cammerer Trail, Hiking trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee, US.

Lower Mount Cammerer Trail is a hiking route in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee stretching roughly 7 kilometers. The path winds through thick forest, crosses several creeks, and climbs about 800 meters to reach the summit at approximately 1,500 meters elevation.

The summit received a stone observation tower built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. This structure served for decades in forest fire monitoring before eventually falling out of regular use.

The trail area connects to the heritage of Ella Costner, who earned recognition as a literary figure documenting life in the Smoky Mountains.

The route is reachable from Cosby Campground and connects with the Appalachian Trail. Visitors should start early in the day and bring water-resistant gear, especially when weather turns wet.

The summit features visible quartzite blocks that form part of the stone structure, revealing the mountain's natural geology. These rock formations appear throughout the trail and create distinctive landscape features hikers notice.
