Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Gothic Revival church built on a stone foundation with a rectangular floor plan featuring three front bays and four side bays. A square tower with a cupola crowns the roof, while ornamental columns and an arched window above the entrance define its appearance.

The church was founded in 1847 and initially served by priests of the Society of the Precious Blood. After a fire in 1888, it was rebuilt, and German craftsmen added a cut stone exterior in 1915.

The parish operated two small schoolhouses along Cassella-Montezuma Road, showing how important education was to this community. Today, visitors can see how closely faith and daily life were connected in this rural area.
