Constructed in 1914 using a $10,000 grant from Andrew Carnegie, this library was part of a nationwide initiative that established 3,000 libraries across the United States.
The building transformed into the Northport Historical Society Museum in 1974, preserving local heritage through exhibitions and educational programs for the community.

The slate-roofed structure represents one of 107 Carnegie-funded libraries built in New York State between 1885 and 1919, maintaining its original architectural elements.
