The Carll S. Burr Mansion features a mansard roof, a flat-roofed belvedere with bracketed cornices, and extends across seven bays with shingled exterior walls.

Built around 1830, this residence underwent substantial modifications between 1881 and 1885 to incorporate the architectural elements of the Second Empire style.

The property served as a notable horse racing training facility during the nineteenth century, contributing to the development of equestrian sports in Suffolk County.
