The Peoria City Hall features red sandstone from Lake Superior quarries and incorporates elements of Flemish Renaissance architecture at 419 Fulton Street.
Built in 1897 and dedicated in 1899, the municipal building cost $271,500 and included a cornerstone where residents placed personal items during construction.
The interior displays an 1889 statue titled 'Love Knows No Caste' by Fritz Triebel and a 1912 mural depicting learning, peace, and medicine.
The building maintains its original function as the center of local government operations, providing administrative services to Peoria residents throughout the week.
In 2017, the structure received national recognition when Engaging Local Government Leaders presented the City of Peoria with the Leslie B. Knope Trophy.
