Price Hill, Residential neighborhood in Cincinnati, United States
Price Hill is a residential neighborhood on the western side of Cincinnati, spanning elevated terrain and featuring tree-lined streets alongside commercial areas. The area is home to several schools, including Carson Elementary, Rees E Price Academy, and Seton High School, serving students from kindergarten through high school.
The area was purchased and subdivided in the 1870s by General Rees E Price, who transformed it from Native American territory into a developed residential suburb. This early planning by Price shaped the neighborhood's character and layout for generations to come.
The neighborhood hosts the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater, where theater groups regularly stage productions. MYCincinnati offers free orchestra programs here for young people from the area.
The neighborhood sits on elevated terrain, so some routes involve climbing, especially when exploring on foot. Wearing comfortable shoes and using public transportation to move between different areas is advisable.
The Price Hill Incline was a funicular railway that connected the neighborhood down 350 feet (107 m) to downtown Cincinnati until it closed. Today, architectural remnants of this historic transport link remain visible to those exploring the area.
