Punta Tuna Light, Maritime lighthouse in Maunabo, Puerto Rico
The Punta Tuna Light stands 15 meters tall on a narrow promontory at the southeasternmost point of Puerto Rico, featuring white flashes every 30 seconds.
Built in 1892 under the oversight of Adrian Duffaut, the lighthouse later endured significant damage from Hurricane San Ciriaco in 1899 and Hurricane San Felipe II in 1928.
The brick structure represents the maritime navigation heritage of Puerto Rico through its Neoclassical design and position as a crucial southern coast beacon.
Located at coordinates 17.988306 and -65.885417, the lighthouse remains accessible to visitors exploring the southeastern coastline of Puerto Rico.
The General Services Administration offers this National Register of Historic Places site at no cost to organizations committed to its preservation.
