Rifle Camp Park, County park in Woodland Park, New Jersey.
Rifle Camp Park is a county park spanning 225 acres across Woodland Park and Clifton, featuring hiking trails, an observatory, nature center, and fitness paths among dense forest. The facilities are distributed across several areas connected by woodland paths.
The land was transferred to Passaic County in 1928 following Catholina Lambert's death in 1923. Between 1929 and 1934, Olmsted Associates shaped the park into its current form.
The park features an amphitheater and camping facilities that serve scout groups and community organizations for outdoor gatherings. These spaces allow visitors to experience nature while participating in group activities and local traditions.
The park is accessible via Rifle Camp Road in Woodland Park, with five designated parking areas near the amphitheater and observatory. The different sections are well marked, making it easy to find your way around.
The park sits on the ridgeline of Garret Mountain and features basalt cliffs along its eastern edge. From this vantage point, visitors can see views over the Great Notch Reservoir.
