Lake Delton spans 267 acres and connects to the Wisconsin River through Dell Creek, providing a central water feature in the Wisconsin Dells region.
The lake emerged in the 1920s through the construction of a dam on Dell Creek, transforming the area into a summer recreation destination.
The lake supports numerous water activities and shows, including the Tommy Bartlett water skiing performances that started in the 1950s.
Multiple resorts, boat launches, and fishing spots line the shores of Lake Delton, making water access convenient for visitors throughout the warm season.
In 2008, Lake Delton completely drained into the Wisconsin River due to severe flooding, but engineers restored it within months.
