Robert Frost Farm, Literary farm in Derry, United States.
The Robert Frost Farm is a two-story white clapboard farmhouse on a property with fields, woodland trails, and old stone walls in Derry, New Hampshire. The grounds belong to the state historic site system and include domestic and outbuildings from the turn of the century.
Poet Robert Frost lived on the property from 1900 to 1911 and wrote many poems from his first two collections there. The farm was later protected by the state of New Hampshire as a national historic landmark.
The rooms inside display period furnishings from the early 1900s that show how a rural New England writing family lived day to day. Visitors walk along a self-guided path through fields and woodlands where markers display verses from poems written here.
The site opens from May through October for farmhouse tours and free exploration of the outdoor areas. Information on guided visits and access is available on the New Hampshire state parks website.
The cellar kitchen contains a soapstone sink that dates back to the poet's years of residence. His original writing chair also remains in the house and is shown to visitors.
