Rocky Glen Park was an amusement park in Moosic, Pennsylvania that featured multiple roller coasters, including the Mighty Lightnin that reached about 55 feet (17 meters) high. The facility operated these attractions until it closed in 1987.
Arthur Frothingham founded the site in 1886 as a picnic ground. Frederick Ingersoll added rides starting in 1904 and transformed it into an amusement park.
The park served as a gathering place where families spent time together and schools brought students for outings. It held this role for the community across many decades of operation in Lackawanna County.
The site is located in Moosic and drew visitors for many decades. Since the park is no longer operating, there are no active attractions or facilities at the location today.
The landowner placed two bodies on the property to block a planned railroad track. This unusual action was an attempt to prevent the state from taking the land for the rail line.
