Satan's Kingdom State Recreation Area, Protected area along Farmington River in New Hartford, United States

The recreation area features a one-acre parcel of land adjacent to the Farmington River, offering water activities and natural landscapes.

The name originated in the 1870s during the New Haven and Northampton Railroad construction, when workers faced difficulties navigating the river gorge.

Local residents gather at this location during summer months to participate in river-based activities like tubing, kayaking, and canoeing.

Visitors can rent tubes from authorized vendors at the site, with the river course extending 2.5 miles and containing three rapids sections.

The recreation area connects directly to hiking paths in Nepaug State Forest through Satan's Kingdom Road, located south of the Route 44 bridge.
