Splendid China, Miniature park in Four Corners, Florida, US.
Splendid China was a miniature park spanning 75 acres with more than 60 scale models of Chinese landmarks. The site featured a half-mile replica of the Great Wall constructed from seven million bricks.
The park opened in 1993 with a 100 million dollar investment as a sister location to the Chinese Splendid China in Shenzhen. It ceased operations in 2003 as visitor numbers declined.
Chinese artisans created detailed miniature versions of temples, palaces, and monuments representing architectural styles from different regions across China. Visitors could walk through these handcrafted replicas to see traditional Chinese building designs up close.
The location is no longer accessible today, as the grounds were demolished and redeveloped after 2013. Visitors interested in its history can only explore photographs and accounts from its time of operation.
The grounds remained abandoned for years after closure before being transformed into the Margaritaville Resort. This transformation shows how former attractions can be reimagined as different types of destinations.
