Avatar Flight of Passage combines motion simulation technology with 3D visuals to create an experience of flying through the landscapes of Pandora on a mountain banshee.
The attraction, which opened on May 27, 2017, resulted from a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering, James Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment, and Weta Digital to produce original footage.
The attraction integrates environmental conservation themes through its narrative about restoring the banshee population after previous mining operations damaged their natural habitat.
Visitors must be at least 44 inches tall to experience this attraction, which frequently generates wait times exceeding two hours during peak periods.
The ride system features individual vehicles resembling motorcycles, equipped with 10K resolution screens displaying content at 60 frames per second in stereo format.
