Na'vi River Journey, Water ride in Pandora at Disney's Animal Kingdom, US.
Na'vi River Journey is a water ride in the Pandora area of Disney's Animal Kingdom in the US, where visitors glide through a dark space in open boats. The walls show glowing plants and creatures on screens and as projections, creating the impression of a nighttime forest.
The attraction opened in May 2017 as part of a new themed area based on a well-known science fiction film. It was one of two main rides built in this section of the park at that time.
The ride shows images and patterns inspired by the world from the Avatar film, with plants that glow in the dark and animals that move. Visitors see a figure at the end who sings and dances, evoking a spiritual ritual.
The boat seats three adults per row, and the ride lasts about four minutes. There is no minimum height requirement for children, and the attraction is accessible to wheelchair users.
The moving figure at the end of the ride was built with technology that allows it to move arms and head fluidly and produce different tones. It is considered one of the most advanced mechanical figures in a theme park.
