St. Cloud Dam, Gravity dam at the Mississippi River between Sherburne and Stearns Counties, United States.

The St. Cloud Dam spans 23.3 feet in height and incorporates dragon's teeth at its base to distribute water energy across the Mississippi River.

Originally built in 1887, the dam's ownership transferred from Northern States Power to the city of St. Cloud in 1967, marking a shift in local infrastructure control.

The dam serves as an educational site for St. Cloud State University hydrology students who study hydrodynamic properties and electricity conversion processes.

During drought conditions, the dam's operations adjust according to river levels, with production halting when flow drops below 700 cubic feet per second.

With a capacity of 8.5 megawatts generated through two 4.5 MW turbines, this facility stands as Minnesota's largest city-owned hydroelectric installation.
