St. Peter's Church and Mount St. Joseph Convent Complex

St. Peter's Church features stone walls constructed with materials quarried directly from the site, incorporating a church, rectory, two schools, and elderly housing.

The religious complex, designed by architect Patrick Charles Keeley of Brooklyn, was constructed between 1869 and 1873 by Italian American stoneworkers.

The structure represents the largest Catholic parish in Rutland, accommodating over 880 people and maintaining educational facilities through Mount St. Joseph Academy.

The complex underwent major renovations in 1950, 1973, and 2000-2004, ensuring the preservation of its architectural elements and functionality.

Father Charles Boylan, who supervised the church construction, rests beneath a monument adjacent to the church tower.
